12th GTI Energy Board Meeting

The 12th GTI Energy Board Meeting was held on 29 April 2025 in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, with the main theme on the Green Energy Development in North-East Asia. The event was hosted by the National Energy Administration, China, and organized by the GTI Secretariat. It was also supported by the Provincial Government of Liaoning and the City Government of Dalian. The government officials from the GTI member countries and experts from energy research institutes and UNESCAP took part in the meeting to share and discuss their insights on energy issues for the promotion of GTI energy cooperation.

 

The meeting reviewed the achievements of GTI activities and progress of the GTI regional energy cooperation, including recent policies and cooperation activities of each GTI member country, and the proposals for GTI green energy development and cooperation. During the meeting, representatives and experts from the GTI member countries actively exchanged ideas and suggestions for future joint activities as well as the Prospects for Clean Energy Cooperation in the GTI Region. The participants shared information on the Regional Road Map on Power System Connectivity: Perspectives from North-East Asia/ GTI member, presented by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

 

After reaffirming the common vision of further cooperation in Northeast Asia, the delegation of the Republic of Korea accepted the chairmanship for 2026 and affirmed their commitment to successfully organizing the next GTI Energy Board Meeting. The GTI Secretariat will closely cooperate with the delegation of the Republic of Korea and other member countries and follow up on the results of the 12th GTI Energy Board Meeting.
