The 17th GTI Tourism Board meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Liaoning Province, Shenyang City, and the GTI Secretariat.

The Members of the Tourism Board reviewed the progress of GTI tourism cooperation since the 16th Tourism Board meeting (10 December 2025), shared their national progress in tourism development and discussed project proposals for future cooperation.

The meeting called on member countries to fully utilize the GTI platform and jointly promote more pragmatic achievements in Northeast Asian tourism cooperation. The GTI Tourism Work Plan 2026-2027, approved at the meeting, encompasses exploring possibilities of joint participation in international travel fairs, as well as initiating other promotional and public awareness activities to raise the profile of NEA as a single tourism destination.

The GTI Tourism Board Meeting was organized together with the thematic seminar on Inbound Tourism “New Opening-Up Vision, New Inbound Tourism Momentum — High-Quality Northeast Asian Inbound Tourism & International Communication Innovation”. Representatives from GTI member countries and international organizations shared research findings and practical experiences on the development trends of inbound tourism in NEA. Participants exchanged views on topics such as tourism product innovation, international communication capacity building, and service quality improvement, sharing policy practices and development ideas from their respective countries and regions.

The chairmanship in the GTI Tourism Board was taken over by Republic of Korea to host the 18th GTI Tourism Board meeting in 2027.
