TOURISM GUIDE

(
China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Russia)

Introduction

The GTI Tourism Guide aims to provide updated information on key tourist attractions within the Greater Tumen Region. The Guide details the main destinations within the GTI member countries (China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea and Russia): China - Heilongjiang, Jilin, Kiaoning and Inner Mongolia; Mongolia - Khentii, Sukhbaatar, Dornod and Ulaan Baatar; the Republic of Korea - Ganwon, Gyeongbuk, Ulsan and Busan; and Russia - Primorsky Kai and the Russian Far East. The Guide also highlights the Rajin-Sonbong area, located in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which borders the GTI region.

The Greater Tumen Region
The Greater Tumen Region derives its name from the Tumen River, which meanders across China, the Korean peninsula and Russia. Together with Mongolia, these four countries have come to form the Greater Tumen Region. This area carries a rich history, a myriad of cultures, diverse cuisines, exquisite scenery, colourful biodiversity and even an assortment of adventure activities. With such extensive assets, this region is becoming increasingly popular to international tourists. The GTI Tourism Guide highlights these key attractions to further promote public awareness of the Greater Tumen Region as a tourist destination.
