The 4th Annual Conference of the Northeast Asia Professors Association (NAPA) was held on 17-18 May 2010 at Gangwon National University, Chuncheon, ROK, with a special focus on GTI and titled as "Greater Tumen Initiative and Local Economic Cooperation in Northeast Asia". The NAPA conference was organized in accordance with the Local Government Summit of NEA annually.
During the conference, one keynote speech, three policy-oriented papers on Greater Tumen Initiative, and fourteen papers on East Asian economy, environment, health, urban planning, and education were presented to analyze the common issues in Northeast Asia confronted with new challenges and opportunities, focusing on the scholarly and policy-oriented perspective.

The conference brought together researchers from leading Northeast Asian universities and institutes to openly discuss the topics accross regional economy, environment, health,urban planning and education, and the perspectives on Greater Tumen Initiative. Strategies and solutions were presented by researchers and professors for coping with current chanllenges towards regional development and cooperation in NEA.
Ms. Nataliya Yacheistova, Director of the Tumen Secretariat UNDP delivered a speech on GTI's recent progress in regional cooperation in NE Asia. She called on more active participation and support from the academia on the furture development of GTI and NEA cooperation.
