The 7th GTI International Trade and Investment EXPO was held on 17-18 October 2019 in Wonju City, Gangwon Province of ROK with the theme 'New Era of Northeast Asia - Cooperation, Development, Win-win!'. Around 530 companies and 230 thousand visitors from over 50 countries including GTI member countries took part in the EXPO.
The GTI International Trade and Investment EXPO is organized annually since 2013, hosted by Gangwon Province and supported by the GTI Secretariat. The EXPO attracts a huge number of private enterprises from both GTR and non-GTR region and provides exporters, importers, and investors with a platform for business. During the 7th EXPO, contracts amounting to 326 million USD were concluded.
This year GTI Economic Cooperation Forum was held with the theme of “The New Economic Map Initiative for the Korean Peninsula and Enhancing Economic Cooperation between the Northern Regions”. GTI Secretariat briefed on the achievements in regional cooperation in trade, business, transport and tourism as well as collaboration of local governments cooperation in NEA in the past years and introduced the recommendations and opportunities for private sector cooperation in these fields in GTR. Participants from China, ROK, and Russian Federation shared their insights on the logistics network and prospects for NEA economic cooperation.
The GTI Secretariat, in cooperation with Gangwon Province, continues to make efforts to provide opportunities for the stakeholders in Northeast Asia to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment sector.
