The 8th GTI Research Institutions Network (RIN) Working-Level Online Meeting Hosted by the Russian Foreign Trade Academy and organized by the GTI Secretariat, took place virtually on 26 March 2024. During the meeting, the progress and work plan for the RIN for 2024 were reviewed and discussed. The plan aims to address challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and seeks to revitalize the RIN network. In the session on ongoing research and new projects, member institutions shared their work. The Institute for Strategic Studies in Mongolia introduced its efforts in national security and strategic policy development. The China Association of International Trade proposed a cruise tourism network in the Sea of Japan (East Sea) rim. The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy suggested transforming GTI into an international organization, while the Korea Energy Economics Institute highlighted their focus on energy cooperation and expanding research infrastructure. The 9th GTI RIN Working-Level Meeting will be held in Dalian on 17-18 May 2024, focusing on industry docking and port cooperation. The event will feature keynote speeches, an academic forum, and field visits to Dalian's main ports and industries.
