The 6th Meeting of GTI Customs Sub-Committee (CSC) and 6th Meeting of Trade & Investment Committee (TIC) were held back-to-back in Ulaanbaatar on 29-30 May 2024. The CSC meeting was co-organized by the GTI Secretariat and the Customs General Administration (CGA) of Mongolia. The TIC meeting was co-organized by the GTI Secretariat and Mongolia's Ministry of Economy and Development.
During the CSC meeting, the GTI Secretariat provided a Review on Committee’s work since the last meeting. The participants then discussed Paperless E-Trade among countries. Korea AEO Association presented the progress of the recent GTI project, “Promotion of SMEs' Production by Enhancing Inward and Outward processing procedures”. The Customs General Administration of Mongolia proposed GTI project “AEO Cooperation Scheme and Multilateral MRA among GTI Customs Administrations”. Members approved the Work Plan for 2024-2025 and the Project Proposal of Mongolia. Russia assumed the next Chairmanship of the GTI Customs Sub Committee Meeting.
During the TIC meeting, the GTI Secretariat provided Progress Review since the last meeting and Work Plan for 2024-2025. Digital E- trade has also been discussed by member countries. ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office presented the Outcomes and Briefings from the International Seminar. CGA of Mongolia presented the Briefings from the 6th GTI Customs-Sub-Committee. Korea AEO Association and CGA of Mongolia presented the progress of the recent GTI project and new Project Proposals as above. Lastly, Members approved the Work Plan for 2024-2025 and the Project Proposal of Mongolia. Russia assumed the next Chairmanship of the GTI Trade and Investment Committee Meeting.
