The 1st National Coordinators (NC) Meeting of the Greater Tumen Initiative 2024 was convened virtually on 4 July, with the participation of National Coordinators from the Member States and representatives from the respective line ministries.

The meeting commenced with the Republic of Korea proposing a preliminary schedule for the 24th Consultative Commission (CC) Meeting to be held in Seoul for Member States’ consideration and feedback. Subsequently, the Member States reviewed and provided their inputs on the draft GTI Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for 2025 onward.

Delegates noted the overall progress on legal transition and shared insights on potential measures to accelerate the related process. There was a consensus to arrange special sessions focused on the legal transition discussions in the near future.

Furthermore, members reviewed the progress and plans of the overall GTI’s works since the last CC Meeting in December 2023 including the financial report, and approved the project proposal on AEO Cooperation Scheme and Multilateral MRA among GTI Customs Administrations, the 2023 expenditure report and 2024-2025 budget proposal.
