The Ministry of Commerce of China, the Jilin Provincial Government, and the GTI Secretariat co-organized the 6th Northeast Asia Policy Dialogue on Industrial Parks (hybrid) in Changchun City, China, on 4 September 2024. The event brought together high-level participants from across the region and focused on “Sharing New Opportunities for Open Development and Creating a New Future for Regional Cooperation.”

The current global economic environment is marked by substantial shifts, leading to a reconfiguration of industrial and supply chains. Northeast Asia is poised to take advantage of these new developmental prospects. This moment offers an opportunity to enhance high-level openness in the NEA region, leverage the benefits of industrial parks, and strengthen cooperation in industrial and supply chains. By doing so, the area can stimulate industrial transformation and promote high-quality development throughout the Greater Tumen region.

During the Policy Dialogue, participants from GTI member countries, and partner organizations discussed issues and shared insights on the following topics: 1) Seize New Opportunities and Build a More Closely Integrated Industrial and Supply Chain System; 2) Build New platforms and Develop a New and Open Economy of Industrial Parks; 3) Create a Shared Future and Forge a New Engine for Economic Development in Northeast Asia.

As the outcome of the Policy Dialogue, a Policy Brief will be published by the GTI Secretariat.
